The Challenge

Great work.
No pipeline.

The Timber Design Studio had two decades of engineering pedigree and a portfolio most competitors would envy. What they did not have was a predictable way to get in front of the people specifying timber frame projects.

Enquiries came from word of mouth. Good months and quiet months, with no way to influence which one came next.

Feast or famine enquiriesReferrals only. No control over volume, and no way to plan design capacity around them.
A hard offer to explainOutsourced timber frame design is a considered, technical purchase. It does not sell itself in a single line.
Two very different buyersSelf-builders and manufacturers care about completely different things and needed separating.
A modest budgetNo room for a long expensive learning phase. The spend had to work almost immediately.
Our Approach

How we built
the lead engine

01

Lead forms, not landing pages

We moved the offer to native Meta instant forms. Removing the website step cut friction hard: the lead campaign delivered enquiries at £2.04 while the traffic campaign sat at £53.13 a lead.

02

Split the audiences

Self-builders and manufacturers were given their own campaigns, budgets and creative angles, so each message could speak to one buyer instead of hedging between two.

03

Show the actual product

Rendered structural models replaced stock photography. Real frames, trusses and joists gave instant credibility with a technical audience and lifted click-through to 2.46%.

04

Test in structured rounds

Nineteen creative variants were run against each other in controlled tests, each one a single deliberate change so we always knew what moved the number.

05

Scale the winner, cut the rest

One single image ad produced 230 leads at £1.97. Budget was consolidated behind proven creative rather than spread evenly across everything.

06

Refresh before fatigue

Frequency was held at 2.27 across three years. New creative went live before performance dipped, which kept CPM at £4.97 in a competitive construction market.

The Creative

Ads that look
like the product

Technical buyers trust detail. Every creative led with real rendered structures rather than lifestyle imagery, and carried a single clear promise.
