Web design · Built to convert

The page everything else points at.

You can run the best advertising in Sussex and still lose most of it on the landing. A website is not a brochure. It is the last thing standing between the money you spent and somebody actually getting in touch.

Where it leaks

You are paying for all of them. You only hear from a few.

Everything else we do sends people to your website. What happens in the next few seconds decides whether that spend turned into anything. Most of what is lost is lost here, quietly, and nobody ever tells you.

Everyone who lands on the site

Too slow

Three seconds before anything appears and a good third of them are already gone, most of them on a phone with one bar of signal.

No obvious next step

They read it, they nod, and then there is nothing asking them to do anything, so they leave to think about it and never come back.

Too much friction

A nine field contact form, on a phone, in a van, with a message box that demands a paragraph before it will send.

The ones who actually get in touch

The difference

Same pages. Entirely different job.

Most small business websites were built to exist. That is a perfectly reasonable thing to want, and it is not what we do.

The point of it

A tidy brochure, because a business ought to have one.

The place every pound of advertising is trying to land.

Speed

Whatever the theme shipped with, plus fourteen plugins.

Images cut, code trimmed, and measured afterwards rather than assumed.

The next step

A contact page, somewhere in the menu.

An obvious thing to do on every screen, written for somebody in a hurry.

Mobile

Squashed down afterwards and hoped for.

Designed on a phone first, because that is where nearly all of them are.

Search

Handed to whoever does the SEO later, as a problem.

Structure, speed and headings built in from the first day.

After launch

You are on your own with a login you have lost.

Hosting, updates, backups and changes when the business changes.

Proof

You are looking at one.

This site is ours, and it was not always like this. When we went through it properly the homepage was carrying nearly eight megabytes of images and an animation file of three and a half megabytes that no visitor could see doing anything at all. Same design, same content, considerably less of it.

Measured the same way before and after, logged out, on the live site. The bars are to scale, which is rather the point.

What you get

A site, and someone who looks after it.

Built on WordPress, so you are not locked into a platform that holds your business hostage. Yours outright, and we keep it running afterwards rather than handing you a zip file and disappearing.

Are we a fit

Worth being honest about.

A website is only worth building properly if something is going to send people to it. If nothing is, the site is not your problem yet and we will tell you that instead of taking the work.

Probably not for you if

  • You want the cheapest site somebody will build.
  • Nothing is going to drive any traffic to it.
  • The design matters more to you than the enquiries.

A good fit if

  • You are already paying to send people somewhere.
  • You want to know what the site actually produced.
  • You would rather it was looked after than left alone.

Next step

Let us look at what you have got.

One call. We will go through the site as it stands, tell you what is costing you enquiries, and be honest about whether it needs rebuilding or just fixing.
